The school finally met with us and agreed to the refund plan for the unused service days. Seeing our concerns taken seriously after months of uncertainty brings so much relief to our household. We will watch closely to ensure these adjustments stick for the remainder of the term.

We as BIS parents do not accept the school's solution of substituting classroom learning with e-learning during the government enforced break during the Covid-19 outbreak.
At the moment, the parents are being asked to take on more responsibilities while incurring extra expenses and time to make sure our children’s education is not disrupted by the crisis. Therefore, we are asking the school for support by taking the actions as listed below.
- Cease or make modifications to the e-learning process immediately so that children don't have to sit in front of a computer for hours every day, especially for young primary children as it is not healthy to them. This is a decision the school made unilaterally without consulting with us, we wish to be more involved in the decisions regarding our children's learning going forward.
- Take actions to make sure our children receive the same 180 days of quality learning that we have invested heavily for. We have paid premium tuition fees to make sure our children receive the best education available; it would be a shame for the school to let the children fall behind in their education without making the proper adjustments.
- If you are unwilling to put the children's education first and choose to protect your business bottom line and the summer travel plans instead then we’d like to be reimbursed for the days that we paid for but did not receive your service.
- We would like to schedule a school level meeting as soon as possible to discuss the school's concerns and difficulties, as well as to express our own grievances and requests. We believe an open dialogue is the best course of action regarding this matter.
BIS has always promoted exemplary values and that was why we have chosen you for the uttermost important task of educating our children. We hope in times like this your values would be the shining beacon for the community and our children, not empty marketing adverts.

Seeing so many of you join this effort has completely changed the way I look at this fight. My own child is struggling through these days at a screen and knowing I am not alone in this frustration gives me the energy to keep pushing the school for real accountability.

3 months or more will be too big a gap. The learning opportunities lost must be made up for in one way or another. Or our kids will suffer. Especially those who may move to other countries soon.
We pay full tuition fee but need to teach and cook lunch every day, its not fair to the parents. And without the class environment, e-learning outcome is poor.
Please open up make-up sessions for students. Not only parents paid a good money for them but also students needs certain amount of lessons in order to move up a year. We know it was not school’s choice to be closed but we also do not believe these kind of e-learnings are what school and teachers can do best for students.
We parents have sacrificed a lot for these closure. It’s now the school to follow suit and make sure the children are not falling behind.
It is not only money issue but also School should take the resposibility for student. We would like to see school's sincere action for students. Current way of education is really difficult to agree.
I think everyone is aware that we didn't pay for our children to receive online training but sadly those are the circumstances. The Vietnamese Government decided the school needs to close, not BIS. Petition the Government if you must but BIS literally have no other choice than the choice they're making. Personally I think it would be very unfair to extend into the Easter or Summer holidays. Unfair on students, parents and teachers all of whom would be penalised through no fault of their own and would be left out of pocket. And frankly if they did decide that I wouldn't send either of my two children to School anyway, we have family holidays booked and we will be taking them. I can't help but wonder how much of this bluster is simply to put pressure on the School so they may partially refund some of the fees paid and if so it's pretty low. I would have said if you're not happy with the education your child is receiving to go to another International school but literally every single one is also closed. This petition is only going to make a bad situation worse and those responsible for it should be ashamed.
So you want to suppress free speech as well? If I do not agree, I'll say why. The school did not create the Coronavirus. The teachers are not having an extended holiday, they're working hard. If it's about money, call it what it is.

Would appreciate school cancel the term break and catch up the class, online learning is not enough. As parents we make our sacrifice during this special circumstances, we hope school can make an effort too. It is nobody's fault, however we all should work on each side to make the right move.
