I live in Turpin House and our club room of our block was taken over by the cleaners so, we lost that. All the back park is used for behind our block is a gathering place for loads of noisy teenagers at all hours. Not their fault, as they have nowhere else to go.

Disgraceful waste of space. In Southampton the council seem happy to build on green field sites.

Don’t waste all that space, put it to good use for the people who live there. Common sense!

Sad to see this space lying empty for so long. Heartily agree that it should be put to good use for the surrounding community.

You are so right Fleur.
The Doddington is not alone in desperately needing this sort of investment.
The true value of effective, well-resourced youth services is immeasurable.

I am a local councillor and also work with young people in Battersea. I see how much this community space is desperately needed - people need space to come together, organise activities, be stronger together. It would be a fantastic investment in the community to reopen it - and exactly what the CIL budget is for. Permanent youth workers are also needed.

The local community needs this space as an inter-generational hub for social activity and opportunity.

This has been an ongoing problem. It needs to be sorted out, and WBC needs to listen to its residents. It is not the only place with miserly facilities.

Investing in this space would make such a massive difference. Please make it happen!

The lack of community rooms is appalling. I hope WBC listens to residents...and that the equal lack of any kind of club room will be addressed.

I grew up across the road from this estate. There used to be youth work and spaces for young people. We need spaces for young people to meet toy more than ever now. The council need to re-think closing spaces for young people.
