I a skatepark to offer free youth activity and to foster community. As a rock climber, bouldering offers a similar environment, but rock climbing gym’s are not free and can pose a financial barrier. Let this be an accessible space for people to gather, grow, and support each other.

If Mr Barkin is part of this plan, you can be sure it will be executed with excellence.

As a West Medford resident and a skater during my adolescent years, I think about how much fun I used to have cruising around town (getting kicked out of everywhere). A skate park not only consolidates the skaters, but creates a community within a community.

A skatepark is an amazing idea, when i was in my teens we went to medford high skatepark all the time, although not the best park but a lot of memories from there .

This is a critical need for our children! Right now there is really no place for them to gather!

Yes, please! Skateparks are incredible community gathering places for all ages. Don't believe me? Go visit and one and watch how people interact there. (Supportive learning space, people lift each other up and encourage persistence/grit, big kids watching out for little kids...Skateparks are awesome.)
