Community Petition in Support of Superintendent Ben Gilpin

Support Mr. Gilpin and put an end to the good ol boy mentality in newaygo!!! Shultz's need to be held accountable for their crimes!

Ben is an amazing superintendent to work for. I have never met a more caring and involved superintendent in my 27 years of working for public schools.

There is something to be said when my younger daughter’s who both attend the elementary and middle schools know Mr. Gilpin. Most students have no idea who their superintendent is!! Just knowing my girls know who Mr. Gilpin is but also seeing both their smiles whenever they mention his name is all the proof I need to know he is doing a great job!

I stand “firmly” in support of Mr. Gilpin & the leadership he provides! His decisions reflect a deep commitment to students, staff, & the long-term success of the NPS district! Effective leadership is not always easy, but it requires courage, consistency, & vision; qualities Mr. Gilpin continues to demonstrate! Our decision to return our boys to NPS was driven by the positive impact Mr. Gilpin has had on NPS, as well as his willingness to hold people accountable while prioritizing the safety & well-being of all students! Thank you Mr. Gilpin, for your unwavering professionalism & prompt attention to my questions & concerns. I also want to express my sincere appreciation for your dedication in helping make NPS a MI HEARTSafe School. Your & your staff’s commitment to pursuing the MI HEARTSafe School Award demonstrates a proactive approach to identifying cardiac emergencies early & helping to prevent sudden cardiac death among students, staff, & visitors. Your leadership in this effort makes a meaningful & lasting impact on the safety of our entire community. As parents of child with a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD), this initiative is especially meaningful to our family! We have witnessed the extra effort you & your current staff have invested in creating a stable learning environment not only for my boys, but for all students. My family is truly grateful for your dedication!

Ben Gilpen did the right thing and honestly I don't believe they should have their jobs back. I know they were not found guilty but a baby was still left unattended, that is not the kind of responsibility I want in the school.

Ben has changed our school district for the better! All of my children have and are currently going through Newaygo. In the past, if I ever had an issue, it would take days for someone to get back to me, if at all. Now, there is no wait and a resolution is available very quickly! My mother works for the school and has for around 30 years. Out of all supers that we have had, Ben has been the best for her. He does what is right by our children and those who are with our children every day. We are blessed to have him.
