To be completely fair and unbiased as i am, it has never been an easy role as a committee member of HHCA. They have always struggled to find members of the local community who have the time to dedicate to these roles and responsibilities.
The Chairperson Shelley puts a lot of effort into her role, that is undeniable and i have known her for a long time, and she has always been very nice and would help anybody out. In fact i have a lot of respect for her as a person she is hard working and great mum. I have already expressed my concerns and opinions to Shelley herself that i don't believe she is a good Chairperson and she is being badly advised.
These problems are coming from the HHCA as a committee being advised very strongly from a local Farnworth Councillor who we are told the Council had "sent in" to oversee and advise the Committee. I have been at Committee Meetings and had to listen to this Councillor "advising" or should i say running the meeting! I would go as far to say that the Committee including me at one point felt as though we HAD to listen to this advise because it came from the Council themselves and we would lose the Grant Agreement of £14,250 per year if we didn't. A LOT of discussions and decisions have been made from this "advise" and this has contributed mainly to the situation the Centre is in today with regards to unhappy user groups as ourselves are very much included.
Many people regard this Local Councillor to be a out and out liar and the list seems to grow each day!
How can this be allowed to happen!? Or is this the outcome intended!

parents and carers of the nursery and the community, please support us in the service that we are offering at Broad Oaks. It would be a great help if everyone who supports us would attend the next AGM which will be in April or May. Like they say there are two sides to every story and it would be great to hear the other side. Even the nursery would like to hear why they are doing this to us.

I can't understand why these people want to make it so hard for this nursery to continue. These people should be doing everything they can to keep this nursery going. Not only is it close by put it's affordable and without it I would not be able to afford to put my child in nursery while I go to work. If the nursery had to close it would be a great loss to the community. I am a single parent and really do struggle, this nursery has been a god send. A nursery is not just play time it's the first steps of children's education. Money and greed shouldn't come before a child's education. They should be ashamed of themselves!!!!

All you need to do is go on the charity commission website and put 509005 in the find a charity search bar. Then click on the trustee's annual report to get all contact detail's. But I know that one of the trustee's and two other members retired when they became aware of the committee's treatment of the nursery. Jane Seddon is no longer on the committee. They are a registered charity, what they are doing is not very charitable. if you want to contact Councillor Jean Gillies who have supported the committee in their actions, you can get her details from the town hall website as the farnworth councillor.

The Councillor who has supported the committee in this vendetta is the mother of the dance group that hire the upstairs rooms. If they read this I want them to know that we value what they do for the kids of our community, but if parents have to stop work because of no local child care, then common sense tells you that kids activities such as dance classes will then not be affordable. who loses at the end of the day, kids

This nursery should NOT be forced to move. Lots of little children will miss out if it has to move, my grandaughter being one of them. Some parents depend on this nursery so that they can go to work. Highfield Hall Community Association should be ashamed of themselves

Hope this makes a difference, if not I'd happily join in on some other ways of stopping them. Maybe we could contact the local papers? Surely a charity shouldn't be trying to break up a nursery that parents and children in the community rely on. Not very charitable! X

Also to put some people straight the building is classed as a Community Centre & Child Care Facility.. and as a full time business occupier of a room contributing by paying rent to approx 70% of the total costs of the centre that without this rent the community centre would struggle or worse financially. So no that isn't the "END OF" it and the nursery have been renting the room for nearly 6 years now on the basis of "exclusivity" in all this time. We have always and always will pay our rent on time - Just putting the facts into BLACK AND WHITE!
