Please stop selling live lobsters. Keeping live lobsters, crabs or fish is cruel and unnecessary.

I don't understand why this company would want to help their customers cause so much suffering to a living being.

"He who gives permission, he who kills the animal, he who sells the slaughtered animal, he who cooks the animal, he who administers distribution of the foodstuff, and at last he who eats such cooked animal food are all murderers, and all of them are liable to be punished by the laws of nature." Not only does this force the sentient beings to be stressed long before they are killed, it encourages the practice of boiling them alive, which is just as painful for them as it would be for humans. The cruelty involved here is right up there with the cruelty involved in the foie gras industry.

I'm really disappointed in the new meat counter and the entire concept of live animals for sale at community natural. It was tolerable in the frozen section. Now the scent and space is taking over the vegetable section, the entire reason I patronize your store. There are other stores locally I can go to in the area in Kensington and at amaranth. However I'd prefer to support CNF as I have for years.

As a long time customer, I'm quite shocked at the lack of moral compass by management's decision to sell live animals and to support their abuse. Please do the right thing for your business and your customers. Do not ever sell live animals.

This is barbaric. If you go ahead with this I'll make sure that neither my family nor my friends ever shop with you again.

Stop selling animals, live animals that feel pain and stress. Stop animal exploitation whatsoever!

I am a regular customer and I totally support this petition. There is a much more humane way to kill them. Poke something sharp through their eye and they will die instantly. Please consider a more humane way of selling these animals.

It's a shame as CNF is usually my go to place for ethical and responsible food choices. It's why I don't mind paying premium from time to time. However, if this practice does not end - I will search alternative places to spend my money. I sincerely hope you reconsider this decision.

Your "Sustainability Initiatives" absolutely DO NOT include polluting our planet's oceans and plundering the small amount of dwindling bio-diversity they're struggling to maintain, correct?? The only logical reason I can come up with is that CNF believes in "LIES= Better Business", rather than "Doing Business Right". Your official statements should reflect reality. DROP the "we care about lessening our carbon footprint" bull-puckey... Or DROP the Cruelty Tank(s) along with your profit margins. My family, friends and ANYONE we can influence, will not be investing our hard-earned $$$ into the pockets of the Bernie Madoff of Grocery Chains. Thanks, but no (live) Tanks!!!
