Who recommended this insanely ridiculous idea. Who will handle out of control students? This will make schools an easier target for violence as well. Maybe that is the agenda?

PLEASE keep our SRO's in school to keep our children safe! THey do not deserve to be thrust into harms way, especially when the VAST MAJORITY of families asked for them to stay.

I definitely feel the safety of our children in this unforeseen world is the upmost priority and having a school officer in the schools only helps with parents peace of mind. Don’t take them away!

I had SRO in my high school as a teen and they saved my life. Our FOCO SRO are diverse, to say because they are police they are scary is misguided and harmful. The stuff some of these kids are seeing at home is way more scary then seeing an SRO each day who would literally give their life for them.

My School resource officer mentored me when I was a student. I don't understand why we would remove them. Why would you take a security guard out if a Bank?
Our most cherished treasure is held inside of the school. Why are we removing barriers to violence in those places?

We definitely need these individuals in our schools as a line of friendship and defense for our students who really benefit from these interactions

Don’t ask what the officers are doing wrong by contacting students. Ask what the students are doing wrong to get contacted by the officers.

Having community officers in the schools brings a level of peace and security to me for my children’s safety. In a time of so much uncertainty we should be providing more safety instead of taking it away. Not to mention this creates a trust for students in police officers when right now they are painted in a negative light. I want my children to appreciate officers not fear them and the closer they can be to officers the better that goal is accomplished.

Until we have some common sense gun laws in place I am not sure I feel safe without a SRO. I know there are many angles to view this issue, but gun violence is currently out of control. I hope the district can prioritize mental health issues being treated by our mental health professionals, while SRO's work on connections with the student body. Knowing that are SRO's are on campus helps me know there is a line of defense between our kids and a violent gun holder.
