Re-open public input for the proposed apartments at 2001 NE Linnea, Bend, OR

I VOTE NO.....Not until this city does something about our infrastructure. I want to know what this developer is doing to pay for the congestion in our area.

It's funny. When the Pilot Butte Commons apartments went in, I remember people were like, "What the heck?" But we got used to them within six months or so. It helped that so many people moved there who loved the Butte. But I think the biggest reason is they put in all that housing in a somewhat respectful way. I don't know if that was the developers, city planners, or both. This thing is a whole different ballgame. The way things are planned, I can't see anyone getting used to this. Plus there's such a thing as too much. The idea of driving through a gauntlet to get to Pilot Butte isn't very appealing. It took us a while to fully see the problem. Now that we do, let's make sure we keep going once this one is resolved. I don't want to see developers buying houses on the west side of the Butte to level them and build five or six story apartments over there.

This is a horrible idea!! Keep Bend, Bend!! We are not Portland, Seattle or San Francisco.

Please! No high density zoning anywhere near Pilot Butte! How about extending the boundaries of the park instead? It benefits the city of Bend to protect and maintain our natural open areas.

The street traffic needs to be addressed first!!

There has been some concern expressed mainly on Instagram that this is about people not wanting additional housing in Bend. It has nothing to do with that. It's about bad decision making by Bend City Planners that will cause problems if certain issues are not addressed. We're being told we missed our opportunity to speak and it's all over like as if that's our fault. Obviously people cared as soon as they found out. Lot's of people. Don't blame them. Just correct the mistakes and the main way to do that is to let the people be involved now that they know. It's that simple.

Agree that more housing is needed, but to build without regard to needed road widening/expansion to accomodate additional traffic, likely traffic congestion, poor public transportation, is irresponsible. This isn't a problem until someone dies in traffic because the roads are impassible.

Do not destroy our planet. There is plenty of other space around bend to consider.

The rules they have often don't make sense. For example, they are required to notify all property owners within 250 feet. That isn't even the length of a football field. When my husband mentioned that most residents within 250 feet are renting, they had to admit that almost no one living close to was notified. But doesn't what happens to the Butte affect almost everyone who lives near it. Maybe the 250 foot rule is helpful in many instances, but it did very little here and it could easily be argued that this situation is probably more important than most.

I was trying to say it is sad when developers get to break city code, it happens often, higher, bigger, etc, yet paint colorsand other minor issues are strictly enforced.

I own a home and live at the base of pbsp (on parkview court), but was never informed by mail or otherwise of this proposed development... More should have been done to notify neighboring residents of thsee plans.

We have to stop this or it will destroy the Butte.

Bend is making a huge mistake by not rethinking HOW MUCH AND HOW FAST YOU WANT TO GROW. Please, don't destroy the reason people want to live here....

Pilot Butte cannot handle that many people using it as their backyard.there's plenty of other property to build on.
