Common Sense Solution for Recurring Presidential TFRs

As the article makes clear, GA aircraft are a minuscule percent of the traffic in and around the area under either TFR. The burden on GA commerce far outweighs the risks to the president. In 1988, the Secret Service planned to close the waters around the Bush compound in Maine when 41 was elected. In that case, GHWB said, he would not visit the compound, so the Secret Service relented and the lobstermen were allowed to fish with minor restrictions. The same common sense, let's make this work for all approach ought to be applied here,

I support the common sense extension of the Maryland-Three rules for recurring Presidential TFR's

Sensible regulations already exist for the DC area. I support implementing similar screening processes for all other airports impacted by Presidential TFRs.

These burdensome and unnecessary TFRs need to stop. They do not provide any real additional security to the President or other VIPs but they do cause grave economic harm to businesses. and interfere with recreational aviation activities. These businesses and aviation activities pose no risk to national security or to any person. Please let common sense prevail by eliminating these TFRs.

The radius of these TFRs also needed to be reduced. In addition to extending the Maryland-3 procedures to a limited number of fixed airports, eliminate the 30-mile radius everywhere.

Current GA pilot. Presidential TFR’s for GA need to be evaluated and reduced to only when the president is moving. Makes no sense.

Pilots are not a threat. Suggest using existing TSA PreCheck numbers &/or a special squark code (keyed to aircraft N number, for voice confirmation) assigned by phone before flight, expiring within 1 to 3 hrs. of ETA in area.

Please stop these business killing TFRs.

There must be a way to get authorization to fly in the tfr. These tfrs are killing businesses.

"President or not" your golf game should NOT inconvince or cost any aviation business "lost business" or private citizen inconvenience at all.
