Bus our children farther distance than it already is is not ok! Children should go to school nearest to their home!

You are gerrymandering the district, thus punishing our kids who will have to spend longer, wasteful times in the bus. Your assessments are dishonest. There is no way we can get to practically any location in rush hour. Why don't you actually try it so you can experience the drive and the traffic for yourselves; especially on a rainy, sunny, cloudy, windy, or snowy day.

I'm hoping after the year and a half of meetings, hearings, and petitions the Board will finally hear our voices. It is clear that Alternative B makes the most sense, keeps communities whole, and fulfills the original criteria the board set forth when this process began. We need to get back to thinking about our children and what families need, not the numbers for only one criteria when we ALL matriculate back together in middle school.

Traffic and our commutes are getting worse by the day. Adding commute time for our children is the wrong way to go, for our children, for costs, and for the environment!

In the spirit of this holiday, I am thankful for members of our community who have pulled back the covers on the Board of Educatoon. I support alternative B. As the closest option to the original recommendation from the superintendent. Elementary school children should not be bused even further. These actions make it harder for parents and our children to be involved in and support school activities. We can not walk to our school and we can barely bicycle such a distance with our kids. Carpools and integration with the entire school community become even more challenging. Forcing us across a major highway to try to do so is Unsupportable based on the excuses provided by this Board. Frankly, we should question any calculation this Board offers to support its dubious take over of a process that is supposed to involve the entire community.
II understand the new alternatives were originally named BOARD Of EDUCATION Alternatives. Changing the names of the “new” alternatives to suggest they were not created solely by the Board, at the 11th hour in the decision making suggests that the Board recognizes its actions were inappropriate and attempted to conceal the source / agenda behind its sudden and swift actions over the last 3 weeks. To alter criteria and disregard months of community consideration and input then try to make it even harder for the community to uncover what is happening is disturbing at best. I strongly support petitions and letters that call out the Board for an accounting of the action is it has taken out of “ the sunshine” , behind closed doors. How are we to know these latest calculations - such as the laughable average bus times that were provided to justify the decision making process ??! From reading the information on the website it appears that a few individuals on the SchoolBoard did not get the answer they wanted with the well reasoned original recommendation. To ignore months of community input, pass a resolution to establish

Please do not make our children travel even further to go to school. To consider going further away would be ridiculous

Please consider the concerns of those of who live, work and pay taxes in Montgomery County. Don’t penalize us for where we live and who our neighbors are by busing our kids farther from home.

Board of Education should not be changing the process established earlier this year, especially in the final 25 days of a 9-month process as this is an unfair process due to minimal community involvement. If the Board of Education is increasing the importance of demographic characteristics and FARMS allocation over other criteria, then we demand this be done for ALL Montgomery County school cluster as a fair and consistent assessment, not just for RMES5. I strongly support Alternative B as this option is the most consistent with the original recommendation.

My kid is not affected in any way by this redistricting, but not sure how any reasonable person even can propose those maps, to drive kids from RP4 to Twinbrook and T2 and T5 to Ritchie Park, as they proposed in Alternative C. That's just insane as

I strongly against using FARMS as the criteria determining the boundaries.
I favor to have our schools close to home.
