We are advocating the use of COMMON SENSE. West Point Graduates are notorious in the Army for being socially awkward. Many graduates get in trouble for partying to hard because they are trying to make up for the time they lost imprisoned at West Point for 4 years. Sexual assault is an intolerable reality at West Point and in the Army. If Cadets were allowed take pass every weekend they could reduce their sexual frustration by having sex. More freedom means more decision making. The constant challenge of making the right decision will produce more competent and confident officers for the United States Army. We are expected to make decisions in a combat situation upon graduation but are not allowed to make any as cadets.We are proposing a change to the current system. 1. Of age cadets should be allowed to consume alcohol regardless of class on and off post. 2. Cadets should be allowed to where civilian clothes after COB. 3. Cadets should be allowed to take pass every weekend and leave post every night. 4. Cadets should be allowed to arrange their room anyway they want. 5. Barracks rooms should not be inspected. 6. Drill is outdated and a waste of the Cadets’ time. 7. All sporting events should be optional. 8. ESP is optional. 9. Company Athletics are optional. 10. Cadets that cannot lead themselves will not be able to lead others. If you believe what we are saying makes sense sign our petition and help create change.
