I think this will cause chaos to the already overburdened road network and public services/infrastructure in and around the community, it will make our roads more hazardous and dangerous for the children and people of the community as a whole. It will have a negative effect on wildlife and be a blot on the landscape. I strongly urge Leeds City Council to abandon these proposals.

I am 80, and I, with my parents farmed at Yew Tree Farm and so did my grandparents and I have lived in the village all my life. We have heritage that should be respected and protected. The site is prime grazing land and is the last bit of green farmland in the village. It is a nice community with a good balance of homes farms and parkland. The roads and increasing traffic are a problem. I feel sorry for the young families who can't get their children into their village school. I've seen the changes over the years... bearing in mind I delivered milk to colton and austhorpe residents from the age of 13. It's a nice balance now. But it's bursting at the seams. This land belongs to the park. When it was owned by Lord Halifax the villagers either worked on the farms, worked down colton pit or at temple newsam house. Colton has always been tied to temple newsam. Don't spoil what we have. More building means more strain on existing utilities and facilities. It will spoil our community. Please rethink! When I was a girl Yew Tree Farm was 250 acres... now it is 7 acres, and you want to take that away. There is a young tenant who farms there now. She was born at the farm and her father used to work with me on the farm. He took over when my parents (Annie and Robert Paxton) retired in 1968. It's her livelihood and she should be treated properly.

As a resident of Colton who is already struggling to get my child into the local school, I strongly object to the proposals which would put additional strain on local resources.

Leeds city council must not sacrifice more PAS land or green belt land from our ever dwindling green spaces. If travellers require a site why can't one of the plentiful brown sites across Leeds be used. The limited infrastructure on and around Bullerthorpe Lane cannot cope with the additional non-standard support required.

This would really destroy the habitats of the wildlife living in the area. It will also have a devastating affect on the local residents, due to the pollution and congestion it will cause. Not to mention the affect it would have in schools, as a teacher in the area we are fighting to find places for the children we already have in East Leeds.

There are a number of brownfield sites that are suitable for residential - this one is n't. Greenbelt / Greenfield / City Park / agricultural Holding - also one third is covered in woodland and CANNOT be built in due to the Woodland Trust's grant for planning this wood in 2007 !
Travellers Site is unsustainable - 200m footpath required inc lighting / drainage / water / street lighting - costs circa £500K BEFORE any camp facility is paid for !
Also, this in a zone that is designated as NOT suitable for housing in the Site Allocation, and again city park.
