Updates

February 9, 2017

I lost someone special because of a split second looking at a phone screen. Seeing so many people commit to putting their devices away while driving brings me peace because I know we are preventing another tragedy like the one my family faced.

February 9, 2017

Seeing this grow makes me think of the friends I have lost to preventable road accidents. The momentum we have built together proves that our community values safety above convenience.

On behalf of Merritt Levitan who lost her life to a distracted driver on July 3, 2013, the entire Levitan family, and all of Merritt's extended family and friends, we pledge to not text, stream, post, or engage in any form of digital distraction while driving. Thank you, Colorado School of Mines and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference for saving lives and preventing tragic accidents!

Too many people on their phones these days. Seen way too many close calls in Golden. Good work.
