Please help us to protect our most vulnerable and at-risk patients' access to care.

I work in an office where about 45% of our patients have Medicaid. Prior to the Medicaid expansion made possible through the PPACA, we had about 30%. This made medications and essential medical care available to hundreds more Coloradans in our office alone! The proposed replacement bill will eliminate the federal support of expansion by 2020, potentially leaving millions of Americans without insurance.

Focus on fixing the health care system rather than scoring political points.

I am a associate medical director at a community health center in the Denver area, and the importance of the ACA to the patients I care for cannot be underestimated. For many of our patients, it has allowed them to access preventative care, acute care, and the space to build a relationship with primary care.

Dear Senator: As a physician working in Thornton, Colorado, I have seen first-hand, countless times, the benefits of the ACA for patients who previously had no access to care. Patients have been able to access life-saving referrals to specialists, to obtain critically important x-rays, to receive vision-saving treatment from ophthalmologists, and so much more. I have been impressed with your care and concern for those who have less, and your willingness to follow your conscience in important matters. Please let your voice be heard so that any bill that replaces the ACA will meet the criteria set out so clearly by Colorado Physicians Protecting Patients. Sincerely, Ed Farrell, MD Family Practice Physician Working with patients with limited or no health care access for 25 years.

I strongly oppose the proposed changes in the Affordable Care Act. This will greatly hamper my ability to care for my patients, and will be a great disservice to my community and my nation.
