Dear Colorado Legislature,

The students, parents, teachers, and adminstrators of Colorado who had chosen to sign this petition have done so because they do not feel that the new mandated PARCC and CMAS tests are beneficial to the health of students across the state of Colorado. These tests have been mandated and have caused hundreds of school to spends thousands of dollars to update systems in order to incorporate the test. Money that could be used to increase staff, buy textbooks, or fund other educational programs that could benefit the students. Moreover, the State of Colorado has agreed to a contract with Pearson for thirty six million dollars which could be used to benefit the Colorado Education system. As Coloradans we feel that PARCC and CMAS should not be the mandated test to measure our students success because it doesn't. We urge you to rescind the contract with Pearson and explore other routes that would be beneficial to the education of students across Colorado.
