As if college isn't stressful enough! Students are going through a lot of struggling to focus on classes,while having a full time or a part time job.There is a financial pressure on us. We have to pay for all sorts of things,like gas for our cars, food, a place to live ,books and book codes which are always extremely over priced,sometimes over a 100 dollars!
→ 66% dropped out to support a family
→ 57% dropped out to work and earn money
→ 48% dropped out because they can’t afford college
If you thought paying for college it's self was the only hard part then you've got it wrong. A LOT of us have to make a living off of the minimum wage that we are getting.This petition is a call out to the government. The minimum wage prices should be raised to at least $13 in state of Georgia.There should also be an exemption in places while the students are in their first five years of college with proof. They shouldn't have to pay taxes back until they've graduated or until their 5 years is up. This will definitely benefit students that are struggling to have a job and focus in school.

I honestly did not think this would gain this much steam but here we are and it is wild to see so many people resonating with what I wrote about the textbooks and the stress. It feels like the weight of these classes might be getting a little lighter when I see how many of us are shouting into the void together about these paychecks.

books being 200 dollars is crazy. i cant pay for rent and school at the same time and im just trying to get a degree
COLLEGE IS A SCAM
The college is so expensive and the rooms and food to high. Even you live near home they make students paid for it
The price of living in georgia is going up but my paycheck stays the same. it really is too much for students right now.
working 30 hours a week and trying to pass bio is impossible. i am exhausted all the time.
I️ work go to school and play football
College is a business, not a determinant of intelligence.
