The council finally backed down on the extra housing plan for Coldeast and it is honestly such a relief to know those fields will stay as they are for now. I am still kind of shaking just thinking about how we pulled this off against all the odds because I …
250 homes have planning permission on Coldeast Fareham Council are suggesting: An additional 150-170 dwellings, 60 sheltered housing units (are built outside the urban area). And 30 additional dwellings (are built within the urban area) The plan is documented in the Draft Development Plan, see link section. Pictures of plans are in the blog section. This would be over 500 dwellings on the site That's a lot more cars on surrounding roads, a lot more children going to school and a lot more people needing doctors and dentists. Fareham Council would give Hampshire County Council a financial contribution for road improvement and additional school places, but no commiment from Hampshire CC would be included in the development plan.
If you think that over 500 dwellings on the Coldeast Site is too many please sign the petition below. Fareham Council should plan for less housing on the site, no planning permission should be granted until all other houses are built and sold.
The momentum right now is honestly dizzying and I keep refreshing the page just to make sure I am seeing it right because I never thought we would get this kind of traction when I started typing this out in my kitchen.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. Where are all these people supposed to work and see a gp? Stop building on every bit of green space we have left.
