Final supporters
Following the recent opening of the new Forum, Exeter University management have announced the immediate closure of the staff cafes in the Amory, Harrison and Queen's buildings. They are all to be closed at the end of this term. The staff affected were told only this week that the decision had been made and that they would be made redundant or moved.
If you would like to register your concern at the closure of valued amenities; the risk of redundancy to staff; the lack of regard for students and staff and complete lack of consultation with staff and student unions, sign this petition and encourage your friends to do so.

I have officially requested a formal meeting with the university administration to discuss the lack of consultation regarding these cafe closures. We are currently preparing a briefing document that outlines the impact of these redundancies on department operations.

We are approaching the one hundred signature milestone which is the threshold I need to request a formal meeting with the university management board. Please direct this link to colleagues in other departments to ensure our count reflects widespread opposition before I submit the documentation next week.

Just another example of admin ignoring everyone who actually works and learns here. Keep the cafes open!
FIX THIS
So typical. Keep building fancy new wings but cut all the actual services we use every single day. Stop treating students and staff like numbers.
Ridiculous decision. Those staff members have been there for years and they deserve better than this.
The Amory cafe is the only place to get decent coffee before an 8am lecture. Why is the uni trying to make everything so sterile and inconvenient?

I work in the Harrison building and the cafe is basically the center of our department. Taking it away is gonna kill morale. Really shortsighted by management.
