As a founder of two companies that have extensively used FTS funding to drill off two important world-class gold deposits in Quebec in the past 20 years, and now a new critical mineral copper deposit, we have demonstrated the importance and ultimate good for all stakeholders that comes from the program. The creation of new industry, new wealth, new jobs and new taxes are the basis for nation building that the program supports.

Ending METC for non critical minerals is an insult to the juniors who carry the burden of exploration in Canada.

It is becoming increasingly difficult for exploration companies in Canada to do exploration and finance this activity that is really vital to Canada's economy and particularly to the northern regions.

Canada's mineral resource strength depends on its ability to advance projects and raise capital to do so. This is an important policy to support the mineral resource industry and employment in Canada.

It is essential for the government to help encourage the research and development phase of mineral exploration which leads to discoveries and a strong economy

As the largest mining fund asset manager in Europe, we are nervous about the continous deterioration of the resource sector environment in Canada (first nations rights, which are similar to significant royalties for the miners and deterioration of the taxes benefits)

the worst time for mineral exploration in Canada was in 1989-1990 when they government last shut down funding through flow-through share issuances

These tax incentives are and have been important to sustaining the pipeline of natural resource projects in Canada as a leading jurisdiction for mining.

These amendments should be no-brainers. Let's remove uncertainty and support exploration for this key economic engine in Canada.

We have the most ecologically sound practices in the world yet most of our value is either in the ground or cannot be transported. Let's make the world a better and more sustainable place with Canada leading the charge.
