To enlighten those on what I've learned from a little girl until now some thirty plus years later.... Growing up in Miami the Yoo-Hoo factory was a given, especially when you wanted to trade back in your used bottle for a nickle a piece. However, as I aged, I noticed in the mid nineties and early 2000's the Coconut Flavor in Yoo-Hoo were snatched off of your local Winn Dixie & Publix stores shelves, and were only available in your local A&B neighborhood liquor stores, Why? Being that Miami is the party place of the South, one 12 oz bottle of Coconut Yoo-Hoo was the number 1 request of chaser for your local Cognac, VSOP, etc....at minimum $12-$15 a bottle, on average, why? because the one bottle can be a chaser to a least 3 to four drinks in a 4 to 6 oz shot glass so you do the calculations and the MATH! This elixir is not as extinct as one should think, but probably just as MALT-O-Meal's cereal, that house "named-brand" cereal under the name of another and pulled off under a shelve in a plastic bag might explain why there is a sudden disappearance from the grocery stores. Why? Again maybe it is because the six pack ran a little under $5 bucks and could be purchased by with cash, credit, or "FOOD STAMPS" making its purchase available via a liquor license ONLY purchase depot, could easily pull off this as a better purchase deal even if it were SOLD at nearly $10 bucks for a 6 pack or even $10 million bucks for the actual mixture formula and its existence to suddenly become a David Copperfield's project...
