Cochrane members need to regenerate the organization with open democratic debate, the fight for scientific transparency and a decentralized collaborative organizational model based on open access, open data and much stricter limits on conflicts of interest. Generating the best robust evidence means being committed to new biomedical innovation models where new treatments and the evaluation of their safety and efficacy are driven solely by global public health needs and not by narrow commercial interests. For Cochrane this also means to be on the front lines of public health advocacy.

Great principles. And I’d say the heart of cochrane was being able to provide health care workers with a summary of ALL controlled trials in their field, frequently updated. We’ve drifted a long way from ECPC, but Project Transform could have revived that idea.

Cochrane member. The current Cochrane "business" model is harming a genuine collaboration that thousands have built over decades. I strongly agree with these four major policy issues. Let's recover the legacy of Archie Cochrane. I dont think his goal was to make the collaboration the "largest KT organization in the world" as the CEO expressed in the last CGA. Without independent, transparent, and solid science behind the evidence, there is no room for good KT.

Dignity of Cochran must be restored. I support the proposed four points as key areas of development in Cochrane.
