Shame on the board for showing blatant favoritism rather than maintaining the integrity of the organization. You exist for THE KIDS, for THE GAME, not for yourselves and not for back room politics and favors. That field is not where championship games should be played. It's in horrible condition. Unfortunately, I agree with other parents who feel this will fall on deaf ears. That's why I will take my money, my time and my kid to a different league next year.

As a former youth coach and current semi-pro coach, it is my responsibility to keep my players safe. Change the venue.

Change the field.. don’t let them fool you. One person has the power to change it. One person on the board changed our 1st place team to play at the second place teams field because the head coach asked for a favor. let Me assure you there is ONE person doing the schedule and making the schedule and that ONE person can make the change! This should be played on the biggest, best field the league can find as a treat for the KIDS that are ATHLETES!! It’s about the KIDS experience!

What surprises me most is the fact that anybody here would think for a minute that Eastern Mass leadership would even consider, for one minute, to go elsewhere and give up revenue they control every single year. My guess is we will receive a half ass email just like last year saying: "I've never seen a field score a touchdown or a field goal" or "I've never seen a field make a tackle or win a football game"! My answer to that is... Ask last years D Lawrence team if that field cost them the chance to play in championship!! I had a front row seat and witnessed "The Field" conditions cost them the game, 100%, no doubt about it, cost them the game! (I coached Saugus D, so I'm not advocating for Lawrence). I will also mention the fact that Saugus and Lawrence were undefeated and held the top seeds going into playoffs, but both were forced into Billerica for playoff games to play the 3 seed in horrific field conditions instead of a neutral site. Billerica beat Saugus because they made more plays and deserved to win the game, but the game should not have been there, period! why do we play all year and keep records if it always ends up in control of Billerica? This is about leadership doing what is right and make decisions that removes greed from the equation. With all the incredible facilities available to these kids, it is beyond ridiculous to even consider Billerica as the best place to hold these important games that the kids involved will remember for the rest of their lives. NEWSFLASH!!! It is not about how many hotdogs and hot chocolates Billerica can sell, It's about the KIDS. My experience tells me that this will fall on deaf ears, but I appreciate the fact that people have organized to speak up to the obvious greed that has been going on for years. Best of luck to all the teams playing this weekend!
