Coach Mike has been a positive role model for my son. He brought his confidence and self esteem up. You can see that he build relationships with the players on and off the court. He also had great communication with the parents and players . He is highly involved in the community and everyone seems to know him as he has left many positive impacts on people’s lives including my son, and he currently continues to do so with many kids in the Whittier community. Children need more positive role models in their lives and Coaches that make positive impacts. I really hope WHS really makes the right decision and considers what’s best for our kids and future boys basketball program in the years to come.

As a fellow WHITTIER high school alumni class of 2002 i know mike Hernandez so many years back from dexter days basketball is life for him.. so i know he will be the best fit for next coach for the WHITTIER cardinals

Coach Mike was my coach growing up & still is my coach when I need help in life. I was a former basketball player at Whittier high school for 3 years and also an alumni. I know coach Mike Hernandez will fit best at whittier.
