Coach Roy Garcia is an inspiration to many and a winner both on and off of the court. Quite frankly, the entire Gracia family are terrific people and Roy is simply a reflection and model of all that they represent.

Coach Garcia has inspired many players throughout his tenure at Mission High School, but I was able to witness his strength and guidance with my son John who plays for Nikki Rowe. Coach Garcia came to the team determined to help change the mindset of how defense wins games and my son absorbed all his information and knowledge and still to this day uses those skills he learned. We miss Coach Garcia and only hope that he is recognized as he should be.

I AGREE strongly with Marco Soto, Coach Garcia should have a statue made in front of Neuhaus Gym. Coach Garcia influenced many young athletes lives, and deserves this tribute. That Gym brings back MANY memories and what better way to commemorate that Gym than with one of the Greatest Basketball Coaches to ever Coach in the RGV. A Coach that changed many lives in Mission’s Neuhaus Gym.
