Best coach, not just train us to be better athletes but also. He taught us how to be more dedicated in life and strive for better. Most of teammates became lawyers, nurses. He is amazing human being. The ccollege will lose a lot by firing him.

I was never a member of the XC or track and field team. I did play two other sports and can ALWAYS remember Coach Z's encouragement before a game or practice. He interacted with so many athletes and not just members of his team. Hunter needs to recognize those ppl that make it their lifes mission to improve the athleticism and education of students everywhere.

Coach Z has changed an enormous amount of lives at Hunter. Every one of us that signed up in his tiny office have become better because of it. When I first met him, he told me that runners run an average of 6-7 times a week. That's shocking news for the beginner that I was at the time but it became the very thing that gave me the fortitude to accomplish everything in life. There is little else in the world that is as difficult as track practice and I wouldn't trade that experience for anything. Coach Z and my teammates were the only things that kept me at Hunter. To lose him now is the biggest shame the school can bring to itself.

It's so heartbreaking to hear this. Coach Z is such an amazing person who has a passion for the sport. Being a part of this team taught me to persevere no matter what. Every time I felt like giving up coach Z was there to give me words of encouragement and I'll always be thankful for that. I hope everything works out in his favor. So sad that Hunter would do this...

One of Hunter's greatest moments was winning CUNY out door track and field championships in 2008. I was blessed to be apart of that team, and even more blessed to be trained under Coach Z. The idea that he would be removed is akin to taking the Hawk off of Hunter's logo, it's just plain wrong. I'm sure that we can fix this, for Hunter sake, I pray they make this right.

its very sad to hear this story knowing that he's a passionate coach despite the fact that Hunter compensates its coaches terribly. Get coach his job back!!

It was never about the job or about money. He is passionate and has love for the sport. Coach Z has always being dedicated to develop his athletes in every aspect, mental, physical, moral. He was always on point and very, very savvy on how to help his athletes accomplish their short and long term goals. I could never stop thanking Coach Z for how much he thought me. Many of the goals I have accomplished in my life after graduation had Coach Z's signature on them. He instilled values that I learned through his coaching techniques. If you take this away from him, you will not only be ripping part of his being out but you will be taking it away from many other young people that could be benefiting from his abilities as a coach in athletics as well as in life.

Coach Z is an amazing mentor and coach, the invaluable wisdom that he has imparted on me as well as the numerous hunter athletes is priceless. He has done an incredible job and service to cunyac history and deserves much better than this.

Coach Z gave me advice that worked on and off the track. I still remember his words and in my toughest moments. Years later, they still give me clarity and the morivation to move forward.

Recognize him from as Hunter's coach during high school XC and Track days. Greatly respected from my own coach, Mark Mendes from Stuyvesant
