Trying to get to work downtown by 8 is impossible now. The backup on the main road is backed up past the light and it adds 20 minutes to my commute every single morning.

It is very hard on working parents who have to be at work at 8:00 to make it on time now that drop off has been pushed back 15 mins. Traffic is a mess. Other 8:15 schools might not have that problem because they have buses. We don’t have the option for buses like they do so that is why an earlier drop off is unique and necessary for CMS and worked much better.

Even though my work lets me be somewhat flexible with my arrival in the mornings, most employers are not. I feel like changing the arrival time is being VERY unfair to the working parents of CMS. 1) This change was announced only two weeks prior to school starting; causing parents to rush to try to figure out how they are going to get their kids to school. 2) It was stated that it is not JMCSS policy to be in charge of the students prior to 7:45, however I'm pretty sure there are buses in our district that drop students well before 7:45 so that excuse is invalid. 3) There is NO before care offered at CMS. It would be one thing if parents chose to not pay for before-care; therefore agreeing to drop their kids off at 7:45...but there is NO other option for parents! You are punishing working parents! I urge you to please reconsider the 7:45 drop off time OR to give us another option.

This is a major thing for working parents. Not to mention a HUGE factor to consider when you have children at multiple campuses in elementary and high school.

Worst decision ever made by the school board! Sent several emails to people in charge with no response regarding the drop off and parents trying to get to work.!
