Breathe life back into the Coast Mountain Outdoor School
We are not seeking donations at this point. Any "please donate" links on this website are for this website, not for us. We are only seeking public support and gauging interest. Thank you all for your time and interest!
The old site of the coast mountain outdoor school just north of Pemberton is sitting in a state of disrepair and costs school district 48 $10,000 in annual charges despite not generating any revenue. The beautiful cabins are left to the elements, and many of the larger structures on the property have begun to rot into the ground, and are otherwise being reclaimed by the elements.
We understand that countless people through the sea to sky corridor have many fond memories of summer and winters, activities and learning experiences of this location and would like to see passion and life brought back to this land.
A non-profit society that comes into a stewardship role of the land and the structures there would reinvigorate the property, refurbish and maintain the cabins and other structures, and ensure that joy can forge memories of this place for the grandchildren of those individuals who came here in their youth.
We seek to offer learning experiences, lessons and seminars pertaining to various arts and trades. To educate and inform on a broad range of subjects from ecological and environmental awareness, to health and wellness, to philosophical pursuits and literature. In short, to make this a school again, and to preserve the beautiful log cabins, establishing a connection to our heritage. We strive to refurbish and cherish what already exists, rather than to tear down and waste.
Please share this collection of signatures with anyone you know who has fond memories of time spent at the Coast Mountain Outdoor School as we approach the School District with propositions for stewardship positions with this land so it may continue to bring joy to the people and families of the sea to sky region.
