this is a huge loss for the city of sugarland. I grew up playing at this rink and was hoping to bring my kids up in this rink as well. please figure this out

SLICE is a worthy investment for the City of Sugar Land because it provides services to thousands of families, brings a higher quality of life to the Sugar Land area, and generates substantial income for surrounding businesses. Around the nation many ice rinks are owned or subsidized by cities or counties because they provide tangible financial and social benefits to their communities. Thousands from across Houston are drawn to SLICE year round for recreational skating, league hockey, Learn to Skate, skate therapy, competitive figure skating, birthday parties and group outings, hockey tournaments, clinics, ice shows, and figure skating competitions. This not only provides entertainment for those involved, it translates into noticeable revenue for area businesses as those families regularly dine out and shop, which also results in tax dollars for the city. A good percentage of this revenue is brought into the city by families living outside Sugar Land. SLICE is a unique sport center because it provides a much loved recreational venue for the whole community as well as an important training center for serious skaters. SLICE is an essential facility for the many highly trained coaches who specialize in hockey and competitive figure skating. Some of these coaches are internationally recognized and their unique expertise draws some of the best skaters in Texas to Sugar Land. In the world of skating, SLICE puts Sugar Land on the national map. It's also important to note that SLICE is home to a large, well respected skate therapy program which provides important services to special needs children. Overall the ice rink contributes highly desirable entertainment and sport value to Sugar Land similar to city parks, rec centers, youth programs, senior centers, municipal pools and soccer fields. The City can continue to benefit financially and socially by investing in SLICE now. Don't let Sugar Land risk losing an important source of business revenue and community pride.

Save the Ice Rink !!! I havnt been to this rink, but I know it was a home to many and removing this will impact many of lives.

Sincerely hope the rink could be operated as normal. It will be a big loss for all SugarLand residents if it is closed.

My son has found himself here, playing hockey and new family. He's recovering from injuries that slowed his processing down and hockey and the drills he practices has done wonders for his recovery. Please don't take this away!

I love Sugar Land. Best place I every lived. What makes Sugar Land special is what the town and community has to offer including the rink. It is the full package. Sugar Land needs to protect its assets that makes it special so it can remain one of America's best cities to live in.
