Somethings should always be apart of our lives not only for our own memories, but for the memories that yet to be created in the generations to come. This ice rink is no different fo many of us that have such memories..

I have been coming to Sugarland Ice for over 10 years now. This is a huge asset to the Community. What has not been mentioned is the economic impact that will be lost if this facility shuts down. I personally come into town from Beaumont, Texas. Spend the weekends skating in Tournaments at the rink with my Family. (Approximately 4 each year). I Stay at Hotels and and frequent the many fine restaurants Sugarland has to offer..Losing the rink would mean my money would be spent elsewhere...that's just myself. How many others are out there like me.

I play hockey here once/week. Losing this rink would mean a loss of more than 50% of the available ice for avid recreational hockey/ice sports in the entire Houston metro area. My team frequently attends restaurants in Sugarland before/after games each week. Local businesses will lose than source of revenue the rink brings in.

Houston is a world class city and needs the support of the community to continue offering opportunities for our children to participate in all sport, hockey has already taken a big hit losing the home team. Support Hockey!

This rink brings joy to many people as well as jobs to a great city as well as economic value to Sugar Land. This rink for many years has brought countless figure skating competitions, ice hockey tournaments to the City of Sugar Land that brings people from all over the state and country. These people spend countless amounts of money in and around Sugar Land. This is a major economic blow if it closes. Also, not counting the blow it is going to be to those that want to learn to play ice hockey or learn to figure skate or those that us this as a place to escape their own troubles. I did not grow up here, so I am a transplant like many of those in this area. This was a part of our everyday life and for this to happen is like someone telling you that you can no longer eat. This is something many of us need if not daily, but weekly. This facility yes, needs a lot of TLC, but given the opportunity buy either the City or a new owner this can be the place we all love to go. If this rink was to close for good, this would bring a major void to the city of Sugar Land and to those that use this place as a way to escape. Please do what you can to save a major building block in our community.
