My son just found a love for Hockey at 16 and i want to take him for lessons. Now you're planning on taking this sports center away. Please save it so that another generation can appreciate these sports.

This is a short introduction into Skate Therapy, a nonprofit organization that is carried by volunteers from the rink and works to serve, love, and provide an on ice experience for children with mental and developmental disorders.

Our family has been involved in Houston hockey for approx 6 years. On average, we are at the Sugar Land rink twice a week. With few exceptions, our trip to the rink also includes a visit to nearby businesses such as the Whole Foods, Jimmy Johns, Chick-fil-a, etc. on occasion, we have also taken a hotel room at a nearby hotel so that we could reduce our commute between tournament games. The ice center must be a major contributor to the local economy, drawing many families like ours on a daily basis.

My daughter started skating there at 3 until the day she left for college. It was such a great way for her to enjoy a sport she loved in a safe environment. She made so many friends through skating.

The key words here are Community, Health and Excercise.
Surely this must be a priority for "The City" in a time when society appears to be spending far to much time online - more than ever before!
Facilities must be available to help offset this lazy trend.
Health and exercise guys, it's what it's all about.
Do the right thing - keep it open.

Please keep this facility for our people. I think the City of Sugar Land can own the rinks, as same as the city of Allen did. (North Dallas). Please try to find a way to keep it. One thing the city can do is to make contact with Dr.Pepper Stars Center who owns many rinks in Dallas areas in case that they want to invest to continue the facilities.

Sugar Land Ice Rink is the only place for ice sport's related activities in the region. Closing it will affect lots of people lives, - dont close it!

It is clear there is a very large need in this area for a facility like this. Please keep it open.

Sugarland twin sheets brought me back to Houston after 7 years. I play in one of the most unique leagues in the world- Thursday night gentlemens league. What I see when I am there is constant activity serving the community. Save this rink
