Closure of West Norwood Delivery Office SE27

We have run a business in West Norwood for over thirty years (Revamp Interiors) and really value the proximity of this sorting office. Please don't close it

This is my local delivery office.

It will be a great deal of inconvenience of if we have to go all the way to Anerly. Please go and do something constructive and leave the delivery office alone.

I wanted to echo the other comments, anerley doesn't even have direct transport links from west Norwood which would mean a lengthy round trip. The vast majority of us work full time so this would become almost impossible. For all my local friends with kids, jobs and one who is blind, it will be totally impossible. Royal Mail is going to end up with even more work indirectly due to the increase in redelivery requests or return to sender when people just can't get there to collect. I appreciate that redevelopment if that area would be beneficial (I have a direct view of it!!) but surely a better, other solution can be found.

I often use this sorting office to pick up post as many other local residents do. Moving it be a huge inconvenience for me.

The planned move to penge/anerley is not feasible as a household of 2 working parents with 3 children who relyon public transport. It would take 2 buses to get there which is ridiculous and will take too much valuable time. Although it can be redelivered that would involve an increase in pollution and traffic to the local community.

The objections to closure are obvious for the elderly and infirm. For those of us in full time employment and with busy lives the opportunity to make the longer trip to collect mail is just not realistic. Please don't close our local office!

Anerley is very difficult to get to especially for the elderly disabled and people without cars this is a terrible cost cutting decision and West Norwood should have its own sorting office

Sorting office needs to stay

This is an excellent delivery office that is of great utility to local residents. It would a big step backwards were it to close and would encourage the local residents to use alternative conpanies to the post office to ensure convenience in the delivery of their parcels.

3 miles away is too far.

A sorting office some three miles away is not local. This proposal is entirely unreasonable. Has any thought at all been given to the needs of West Norwood residents?

Moving the sorting office to Anerley can't be serving the local community. Personally I would have to travel on public transport just to collect a parcel or arrange for redelivery. Just make sense on any level.

While this move will be ok for some, those with multiple responsibilities (e.g. caring) or with limited mobility will find the new location highly difficult to access, as it is at least a train and bus ride away. This is an unreasonable degradation of a valued community asset.

I don't want the WN office to close. If that is inevitable, can the Dulwich sorting office be used by the public instead?

I frequently have to pick up work-related packages from the sorting office. Working a 6 day week in central London, and then having to travel to Anerley to collect packages during opening times would be almost impossible for me.

It's vital for the local community living in the SE27 postcode to have the post office sorting centre. Especially the local service helps older people and those who no longer can drive.

We lost our Sorting Office in Herne Hill several years ago and it is very inconvenient to travel to and access the one in Camberwell.
