Moving the sorting office would be highly inconvenient for local residents, especially those without means of transport. The Anerley location is very far away. There is frankly no way that such a move could be presented as being in the best interests of Royal Mail customers.

The closure of local amenities is killing communities and for what - the bottom line and larger profits which benefits the few (who don't even live in our communities)? What about the elderly and differently-abled who cannot travel and are dependent on local services? I'm signing this petition for them.

Closing the collection office would be a travesty of the highest order.
Corporate, money hungry pigs shouldn't have control in these matters as their inhuman lack of empathy would see communities like these nuked if they think it would line their pockets.

The vast majority of people who have to use this location don't have their own personal transportation. Moving this to Anerley would make it very difficult for many of us to pick up items, especially those of us who work and can't be at home for a delivery.

I am local and have been using this service for 5 years! The sorting office is very handy as I work long shifts and can't always be in to get parcels. The staff are very friendly, polite and helpful and it would be a big inconvenience to travel to a further away sorting office. I would even be willing to pay an extra fee each time I have to collect a package in order to keep this office running!

how can anyone without car/other transport get to anerley from here? i am shocked at yet another cost-cutting exercise and i reckon more privitisation. i used to have postal deliveries sent to workplace - not an option anymore due to security issues, so i need my sorting office not to be 90 minutes' round journey!!!

Think again please!
Moving the sorting office to Anerley means more car journeys - not good for the environment and adding to congestion on the roads around Crystal Palace. It is also a real inconvenience to travel three miles to collect a parcel! A sorting office needs to be local which for us means West Norwood.
