Royal Mail has officially scrapped the plan to move our local office to Anerley. Keeping our mail service right here in West Norwood feels like a massive weight off my shoulders. We kept our post local and I am incredibly proud of how this community protected our neighborhood hub.

I would like to inform the local residents that Royal Mail Propose to Move the local sorting office to Anerley which is 3 miles away.
It is in the early stages of development so I am trying to get up a campaign with the help of the local residents of West Norwood who I am sure don’t want to have to go 3 miles to pick up their packages & parcels.
We pride ourselves in CWU West Norwood with trying to provide our customers with a great service, as you will know this will only make the service worse.

I have spent years working at this office and I know how vital it is for our neighbors to have their mail nearby. We are getting very near the first hundred signatures and I need you to pass this link to your neighbors right now to get us over that hurdle.

My concern is not only for the collection of mail from an easily accessible place but what about the letter post and post people. Will our post have to travel to and from Penge? I'm sure most of the posties live fairly locally - how will this affect them?
Closing this local office (which I regularly use) would mean more people having to drive or use public transport to collect parcels - this means more congestion and worse air quality. The opposite of what we need in London. Please keep it open Royal Mail
The return journey from West Norwood to Anerley on public transport takes ages and will disadvantage those without cars, in particular. The West Norwood sorting office always seems busy whenever I am there - is there really a case for closing it?
i often have parcels delivered and on more than one occasion i have had to collect it from the delivery office and i am grateful for the short journey and parking facilities closing this much needed office would be a real inconvenience for me as i am disabled
Please don't close this post office. To move it out to create flats is superbly short-sighted: the more people who live here, the more we need a proper infrastructure of facilities to help our community function properly. Turning it into flats is just greedy.

Objection from an over 80 with no car who has satisfactorily collected post from Windsor Grove for many years and objects to going by 2 buses and having to allocate half a day to collect from Anerely (Penge). Is this the cost of privatisation?
