There is no reason to drive north across the blocked road with the only outlet to turn south on Lexington.
The north neighborhood could find access to 109th eventually and to turn north on Lexington useful vs their south turn only option.

This is not only a convenience issue, but it is a safety issue. A single incident in either subdivision can prevent all of the residents from getting in and out, and also emergency responders getting in. This was agreed to be opened previously and I believe that one of the city council members prevented it from being opened due to a personal interest and not the interest of the citizens involved in the decision.

There is no disadvantage to anyone to have the road opened. Only advantages to the kids on the school bus, delivery drivers who won't need to back-track (actually causing more traffic in their neighborhood at the moment), and allowing the folks in that neighborhood drive through the Sanctuary Preserve in order to properly cross the medium and take a proper left to head north instead of having them illegally taking a left at the medium crossing that's for the entrance of the Sanctuary. Blaine is only growing, we should connect the communities instead of blocking them off.

I agree with all of these points and have discussed them before. Not only that, opening 114th is the right thing to do for all of our Blaine residents. We are a generous community and opening up this roadway to our neighboring development just north of us is the Blaine way of life. We don’t want to remain segregated over issues that are no longer present. Let’s do this right, let’s open it up to benefit all.
