This petition is being started on behalf of those who work in the auto industry in New York State. New Jersey has "blue laws" which prohibit dealerships to open on Sunday. New York had similar laws, unfortunately most have fallen by the wayside. It is the intent of this petition to re-enforce a previously existing practice which would close car dealerships for business on Sunday. Many employees of New York/Long Island dealerships endure on average 50+ hours a week. Closing dealerships on Sunday would allow these employees the opportunity for a 5 day work week, and be able to spend more time with their family. It's time to take a stand.
