how about we just shut the whole world down. Stop driving cars, stop eating, stop getting married, stop having kids and reproducing, just stop everything to shut it all down man wouldn't life be fun if we follow people like you. Don't get me wrong I feel horrible that you lost your son but don't take the fun out of everything for everyone else because he made a mistake.

Just a random question, if it's a lake how does it have a current? AND..AND if one doesn't know how to swim, how is it the parks fault, much less the lake or rocks fault that this young man downed? I mean color me crazy, but if I don't know how to swim I sure as heck am not going to cross, jump or swim in a LAKE that doesn't have a current to which I can harm myself. That's just common sense. And if I am high on drugs and drinking I shouldn't be in the water to boot (for the person who thinks this lake should be closed because they lost someone as they were high out of their mind and drunk to boot)
Do none of you have common sense or teach that to your loved ones that if you DO NOT KNOW HOW TO SWIM TO KEEP YOUR FEET ON THE GROUND!!! Seriously, people are getting shot daily and you want to close a lake as people do not use their mind.

Punish all because 17 made a decision that killed them. Sounds logical. 17 people in 25 years is not even one a year. You guys are making out to be the worst place ever. I’ve been jumping off rocks and rope swings for my whole life, but not once have I done it drunk or stupidly. It’s all in the decision.

I can’t sign the petition. I am a person who can not swim however I have been there made it across to the rock and jumped. I wore a life jacket. I am praying for all the ones who lost a loved one there however you can not blame the water or the rock. Your loved one could have been killed in a car accident just the same and the road would not get closed. My Daddy always told me there is a right way and a wrong way to do everything in life. People have to be more cautious. Closing the area off is not going to stop people from going to what has been an icon for so many years. Again my heart goes out to the grieving and hurting families, but closing the area will not give back what or who they have lost.

It's not worth the risk. Kids take risk these day they didn't used to, and drugs are much worse. Just my opinion.

Too dangerous especially when boats are around, it’ll get worse before it gets better.
