Schools are off during many holidays such as Christmas, Easter, MLK Day and many Jewish holidays. However, schools are open during Chinese New Year. Many students who celebrate the Chinese New Year go to school on that day instead of learning about the traditions and celebrating. If schools are off during many other holidays that are less significant, why can't students have off during Chinese New Year?
