As many know, schools in the Pacific Northwest have all been shut down for two weeks minimum or more. Post Falls School District, however, has only shut down for two days. Even after speaking with the governor and Idaho Panhandle Health Officials who suggested closing for upwards of two weeks, the district still decided only to shut down for two days. Within the high school, there are numerous students and teachers who are more susceptible to illness. They have “deep cleaned” our schools, but that will be meaningless if one child had already contracted COVID-19. For the safety of the students, teachers, staff, and family, our district should follow in the footsteps of neighboring schools to lessen the spread of the Coronavirus.
