The gas plant is being shut down and relocated according to the authorities. I am drained from the fight but I am relieved that our community will finally be safe from this constant threat. We will keep watch to ensure the removal happens exactly as promised.

We the undersigned, who are old students of Marymount College Boji Boji Owa, Ika North East, Delta State Agbor in Nigeria and abroad, parents and family members of present students, members of staff and concerned citizens of Nigeria, strongly oppose the construction of a gas plant at Melekwe street directly behind St Cecilia's hostel in Marymount College. We request that the plant be CLOSED DOWN/RELOCATED IMMEDIATELY for the following reasons:
- A gas plant at this location has been and is still a SERIOUS HEALTH HAZARD to Marymount College students and members of staff as well as inhabitants of nearby properties.
- This gas plant has caused SERIOUS HEALTH & ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD.
- Already, several students have developed serious negative neurological symptoms, which has led to hospitalization of some and one death recorded.
- The gas plant is located in a residential area, which means that in the event of an explosion the consequences will be disastrous. We do not want another incident of a gas-related explosion in Agbor.
- The gas plant location was never approved by NUPRC (Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission).
By this petition we request all relevant authorities to carry out thorough investigations into the aforementioned allegations and that the gas plant be closed down/relocated.We also demand that the aforementioned gas company and its directors/owners pay compensation and damages to the school whose image and reputation has been negatively affected as a result of the death of a student and the families of the affected students.

Please, close or relocate the gas plant to a safer location. Gas plants locations should be regulated to meet all the safety standards required. "We should know better"
Please for God's sake and for the safety of our girls and the community, The gas plant should be taken down immediately to avoid further health problems and promote safety in the environment.
Its preposterous to have a gas plant in a school area especially a residential community. Kindly relocate gas plant.
How in heaven's name should a gas plant be cited within a residential area and so close to a school hostel. The relevant authorities in Delta State should close down or order a relocation of the gas plant immediately because of the health hazard and danger it poses to life's and properties around it.
Life is too precious and we as old students of the school do not wish to loss another life. We plead with the relevant authorities to close down/relocate the gas plant to a proper place. Thank

It is unhealthy to put a gas plant in a residential area, talk more behind a girls hostel whereby the staff harrass the young girls at night. Please save our children as the effect is already manifesting on the kids.
