I could not agree with you more. Ironic that most parents that had children sent to the hospital -examined by doctors and nurses have no problems and support the school. Maybe because they got more information and explanations. They know there children are fine. Mine is, and so are each and every one of her friends. I support the staff there and am very happy with everything the district is doing to rectify this situation and solve potential future issues. Notice - Not a whole lot of parents with students that actually attend Cortland signing this petition, wonder why. You have the option of not sending your children and I support that, but don't deny me and many, many, many others the right to send our children to school if they don't have a problem with it.

We have a 3 month old and live in Cortland. We will never send our kids to that school. Close it and build it in a better location.

The administrators in District 428 need to step up and accept some responsibilities to this terrible situation. Identiy the problem that you are aware of and provide solutions to these students and their parents. I listen to my grandson complain about terrible headaches for the past few years never realizing that he was going to school in a toxic environment.

Us Cortland Elementary parents should of never been put in this type of situation. The district knew the risks of building the school next to the landfill, yet still followed thru. What the district hoped would never happen, did. I value the life of my child, We have to do whats right.

Should have just rebuilt on the open field at the original school and regrassed the area where the demolition of the old building was.

The parents need to be completely reassured that the school is safe before letting their kids go back. I know, I wouldn't.

My sons go here. It is a wonderful safe secure building with the best staff imaginable. There is so much incorrect information being passed around it is just plain sad. Too many people have seen too many movies and are not applying logic.

A school that is suppose to keep children safe should not be feared that it's not. A landfill exposes too much, feces, cleaning fluids, oils/gasses, possible medical wastes, dead animals, and drugs. Close down the school, relocate it at a safe distance for the children. My children go to another school, but had they did, I would keep them home.
