I think access via Peralta road along the already existing two track roads (which could be improved) which currently pass very close to the existing parking lot from the East would be an easy solution to the problems others have mentioned. A trail head fee could be charged as it is in other destinations to help cover costs and hopefully curb the volume of traffic we see. The forest service states the groups of no more than 15 people are allowed in the Superstition wilderness, with the volume of people we see on the trail it’s often difficult to tell one group from another and the environmental impact on this beautiful area.
It’s true that many ignore the no parking signs and create issues for local residents, this can be verified with local law enforcement. We need a better option than Cloudview access.

This situation needs to be corrected ASAP. We need both a second site for parking off of baseline and a second road to exit from cloudview to the west. The windy road leading up to cloudview has become damagers to even drive on.

As previously mentioned, a few years ago a Pinal County official recommended constructing an access road from Peralta Road to the east thru State Land to the trailhead parking lot. This solution would be very cost effective using existing public lands and existing county tax dollars. No land purchase necessary and Pinal County has the staff and equipment to build and maintain the road. New fencing to keep cattle off the road would need to be resolved thru the grazing lease(s). Cloudview access would be permanently closed.

It is unfortunate that PCSO is unable to manage the unlawful parking hazard that exists at this trailhead. The residence are left with little recourse to resolve this annoying road hazard & traffic congestion.

I live right next to the trail head, makes it difficult to get out of my street to go to work.

They definitely need to do something about the Parking because it is only getting worse every year. If the word can get out that Peralta Regional Park is the place to hike and enjoyable for hikers, bikers, horse riding, and family outings w/ plenty of parking ... and this is where Pinal County is spending their money. Take a hike over there...you will be glad that you did!

I have hiked the Petroglyph trail since 1995. Over the past 28 years I have seen the number of petroglyph at the water hole disappear by my recollection 80%. There is no signage advising people not to touch or "rub" the glyphs; as though anyone would obey a sign in today's world! The glyphs are a historical marker of the culture(s) that lived in the Superstition's in the centuries past. It is probably too late to catalog the few remaining glyphs. The site needed to be protected by the USFS decades ago. I understand there was a memo of understanding between the USFS and Pinal County to expand the old dirt parking lot and pave it. I have seen a sheriff's vehicle on occasion but never a green USFS truck. It may be time for Pinal county to revisit and possibly renegotiate the MOU. Access to this site needs to be controlled and monitored. Parking could be controlled by an access point and a live person requiring an admittance fee. The uncontrolled approach that exists now is disruptive to residential and service vehicles that must access their homes or perform a contracted service. The choke point of vehicles parking on both sides of Cloud View is an obvious evacuation hazard to the most casual observer.
