We needs to find ways to help people leave prison and become good citizens and not just a revoling door that eats the hearts and souls of Black men and women and their families. Think of all the potentisl lost, wasting away in prison.

This man is and was an upstanding, kind and passionate citizen. He was dealt cards in the form of a situation none of us would have wanted but responded to the same. He seems to be turning that hand he was dealt into something worth having. His life is valuable. Release this man and let him live the productive life he’s seeking.

Robert lived In my home for many years as part of my husbands non-profit, Music to Light. I also met Anna. Sad to say the last correspondence received from Robert was the week Dave passed. Dave was proud of Robert's progress. Under the circumstances of the incident,I believe Robert deserves release.

Not only have I known Robert since 6th grade I was aware of the circumstances around his case and he received inadequate counsel as I was willing to testify about the harsh reality of what it was he was going thru as a victim of abuse and manipulation, his lawyer never called me even though I have witnessed things first hand, he was a productive member of society prior to his incarceration and did turn his life around prior to incarceration. He deserves a second chance at the life he was in the process of building at that time, one of a business man, a father, a friend and inspiration to the so many youth he counseled at the non profit he was a part of. I feel that it wasn't meant to happen the way it did. Robert Williams is a very good person. Like us all we had our struggles. Robert had a promising career ahead of him. The sentence that was given, was very long. As compared to other's that did the same crime and got a lesser bid. I feel that all that has happened he meet with his demons and faced his music. I feel that he still has a brighter future ahead of him, and definitely deserves this chance to be released.

To Governor Cuomo and Director of Clemency: I have always believed that my grandson received was too harsh, considering the circumstances around his case. I also believe that during his incarceration of 9 years, he is a different man. He has rehabilitated and re-invented himself, despite his surroundings. I know that he understands the severity of his crime, and he is sorry and remorseful. I ask you to show mercy and grant him Clemency. I believe that my grandson, Robert would be a credit to his peers, and I think he deserves a second chance at life (freedom), Thanking you for your time and your consideration.

I'm acquainted with this young man's fiancee, and after listening to how she talks about him, and reading his journey to this point in his life, I've decided to sign this petition. I do believe we are all worthy of second chances given we show and admit remorse for the wrongful actions we've committed. But steps must also be taken to mend the wounds left by our mistakes. That can't be done trapped in a prison system that only seeks to punish one who's already voiced his sincerest regrets without a filter.
