This IS a recipe for disaster as not only does it redirect traffic in an area which already has scarce parking during the school drop off and pick up times, but further may have an affect on the safety of children and parents or carers- the so called "community" who were allegedly consulted. The small streets which they have recommended for the community to park are already congested from 2.30pm with residents already voicing their frustrations. Particularly for OLMC where when there is a funeral at the church which coincides pick up time. I ask whether that factor was considered?
It's fine to have clearways along Cabramatta Rd if the purpose is to help traffic flow, but it makes absolutely no sense to do so in areas around the respective schools. Please lift the restriction from sections which are needed around the schools.

Put safe of the young primary school children first and invest in proper traffic controls. Taking away the kiss and drop off point is a poor attempt at directing traffic congestion elsewhere at the cost of child safety.

As a concerned parent the changes to Cabramatta Rd which is now a clearway has caused all sorts of problems to the parents and grandparents who drop off their kids in the morning & pick ups in the afternoon. Access to the drop off area is now very much restricted and no parking is available to accomodate the drop off, endangering the school kids and parents who now have to negotiate the busy traffic on foot.
Being told to either drive around the block to the other drop off zone which is smaller than the one on Cabramatta road is not a solution. I use this drop off as it’s the safest one for my kids as I have one child that needs to exit on the right side of the car as the left side has my baby seats for my infant. I don’t have the time either to drive around the block to wait and see if I get a chance to drive in to this zone, I have to drop my kids off safely and then continue on to drop my other kids off to other forms of care then get to work on time (which I have not been able to since school resumed now). Asking us to park and walk them in isn’t so easy for a lot of parents either as some have other smaller kids that require prams to be taken out etc.
I see this as a huge issue when not only the church will hold a funeral but the Chinese Temple on the other side has a religious function on which will them reduce the parking for parents who rely on that parking area as well. Also when further construction resumes for the next stage of New Leaf where the RMS has now advised parents to park (which is already full). I have seen when the church has a funeral on that all the parking spaces on Humphries road and adjoining small side streets are full.
As another parent said “think of our kids safety” imagine if this was your own kids safety being put at risk you wouldn’t stand for it either so why make us!

Why bother asking the community’s input when it was clearly ignored.
The kiss and drop off on Cabramatta rd has become literally unusable when parents can no longer queue up to drop their children safely. Does the govt really expect parents to drive around the block if you cannot fit into the kiss and drop off bay? Maybe they should actually experience this before implementing the clearway.
There is absolutely no compromising when it comes to the safety of our children and yet the govt has done exactly this!
Put our children first for once!

No respect for the school community in regards to providing a safe and efficient way to get our children to school, taking away our drop off on Cabramatta Rd is so frustrating, just creating more traffic problems rather than solutions. Needs resolution ASAP

This is the most ridiculous and I’ll planned decision. Let’s pray to God that there isn’t a big funeral as there won’t be anywhere to park. I don’t think that there was much consideration or planning done before implementation.

This is a disaster, How can the council or the RMS not consider the fact that parents cannot pick up kids from school and don’t realise there’s no where to park.
It is chaotic as it is and have Cabramatta Road as a clearway it is totally a recipe Major accidents

The clear way has meant that I can no longer make it to after school activities on time twice a week. It is causing a great deal of anxiety to me and from me to my children. Yelling and dragging them the 18 minute walk in the best possible direction to be able to get out on time. I’m now parking in Hemphill ave!

This affects my mum who has to pick up my children for me a few days of a week she is elderly and has to get my severely disabled brother out in his wheelchair now it’s affecting her because she was able to park on Cabramatta road and not have to walk far as she has to push my brother in his chair and now has to park far and push my brother just to pick up my kids for me not to mention the elderly grandparents who pick up their grandchildren or even pregnant mums now on a 40degree day they and we all have to suffer the traffic flow was fine and not bad it still flowed. Now as of Monday 14th October back to school they have now blocked off the kids and drop zone on Cabramatta road which is causing havoc on Humphries road the traffic there is so bad us parents get abused every day now. It needs to be fixed and allow zone times so us parents can park there again as it’s creating more drama than ever before as there are 3 other schools that I know of probably more that are in that area which is just ridiculous traffic now worst than it’s ever been since this clear way has been put upon us 3 days before end of term 3 that’s how much notice us parents got. And Monday it was hot and parents are now parking up at 1pm just to get a parking it’s ridiculous I seen quiet a few elderly people sitting in their cars and then the walk to pick up the kids was to much for them. The RMS seriously needs to take this into consideration.

This clearway is absolutely NOT going to help anyone! All RMS has done is create more congestion and basically eliminated about 40-50 parking spots that parents and carers used daily for morning drop off and afternoon pickup creating more havoc for the rest of us where Humphries rd and surrounding streets are already inundated with parents parked cars I don’t want to imagine what’s going to happen when it rains or when the church holds a funeral!????
We’ve now basically lost our kiss and drop area located on cabrabamatta road because we can’t “stop” to get into the driveway to drop our kids off which by the way also saved another 50 odd parking spots which you’ve now also added to the already high numbers.
This is the most Ill planned decision ever made I’d love the people who decided this to now enrol their kids at our school!

Although I understand what has happened I think it has gone too far. The school is not the problem in fact how can you have a school in the middle of a main area and have NO parking.!
It was hard enough before now worse and I’m only a grandparent doing what is required.... but now the back up off traffic on alternate routes is going to affect MY drive to work ..
Not good enough!!
Not even a drop off zone... revenue making is all I say..
And to all those who get booked protest!!???
