My name is Juliana I am from Colombia right now I am in 6 grade in Nicaragua. Some people who are on the beach say I will throw my trash away later and right know I will have fun plus it doesn’t cause damage. Well that is not true some times when you leave the trash in the beach the sea take the trash before you can throw it or you forget to throw it. That’s why my petition is about that the government do cleaning teams and put trash cans in the beaches of Nicaragua so they look prettier.Some of the beaches of Nicaragua are contaminated with plastic bags, plastic bottles, napkins, food package and much more stuff. If the beaches look prettier then they will attract tourists and make a safer place for sea animals.
Trash in the beach makes it look ugly but not only that it makes a harmful act for wildlife. For example onion bags trap turtles and they can not get out of it and they also eat plastic bags thinking that they are food when they eat them they get asphyxiate. Transparent bags are invisible for birds that fly and then dive to get food and because they don't see them they get stuck in their beak and asphyxiate them.

Tourism is one of the greatest industry in the world and they are important but they are one of the causes of the trash in the beach but sometimes they don’t do it intentionally just that they don't have a place to put their trash so in addition to the cleaning team there should be trash cans on the beach.

41.7 % of tourist go to the beach and to make them feel comfortable the beach should be clean but if it continues to be dirty then tourist will decide not going that much to the beach so there will be less tourist in the beach. But not only that animals will begin to die more and more and some people mind about that and will get upset. So let's save more animal and attract more tourist by keeping the beach clean.

The beaches are still cluttered with plastic bags and bottles while I wait for a response from the local authorities. I am spending my time documenting the damage to the turtles and birds so they cannot ignore the reality of what is happening to our coast.

Seeing the growth of this movement has been exhausting but it keeps me moving forward. I have spent many nights worrying if anyone else sees the plastic on our beaches, and your response confirms we are right to demand change.
