I live in this area and frequent this shopping center often and I am in favor of the improvements that are being proposed. The issues that have been happening are feeling a little to close to home.

I have lived in this community for 20+ and unfortunately I have seen it drastically change in the past three years. I no longer feel safe to leave my house after 6pm. It is not fair, nor is it right!!!! We want our Freedom and Peace back in our Antelope Community!!!!

I shop at this center almost never because of safety concerns andprefer to go there with my husband and I only go during daylight hours. I also find the interior of the Winco store to be less cared for than other grocery stores....even other Winco's in the valley. I like having Petco in the community and eating at Carolina's. I have lived here almost 15 years and over the past 5 years that shopping center has really become scary feeling.

I was shopping there every week but currently been going elsewhere because of all these incidents. I don't feel safe and I don't want something to happen to myself and my 1 yr old. Please clean it up so I can come back.

I have experienced times when shopping at the Winco store early in the morning and while walking back to my vehicle, I have been approached by small groups of young men. During these times, I have feared as to what would happen to me. I didn't know what their intent was or if they were carrying knives or guns. So now, I have invested in some cans of pepper spray in case of any future situations where I may need it.

And send the gang task force to stop the drug dealers at the AmPm...its non stop garbage in this area and as a homeowner I'm ready to sale and move out!!

I moved to Antelope to get away from the crime of Foothill Farms and unfortunately I'm starting to see it here. I used to come all the way to the Winco shopping center before I moved here because I felt safer but now not so much. I find myself shopping at other stores now which takes money away from our community. I hope this petition will change our community for the better.

I live in Antelope and I never feel safe at Winco at night, would also love to see it cleaned up! Until then, I have to shop elsewhere.

Old produce with flies on it (ex. Yellow onions) will not sell very fast. Throw it away and replace it with good stuff. If I need produce I often think to just skip Winco altogether because some of it is just gross.

We have lived here for 2 years now and I have to agree with the comments generated. I have never felt 'safe' shopping there and am on constant guard of being approached by pan handlers, thieves, etc.. It is what drove Starbucks into pulling the plug on the patio seating area. I applaud Jenifer from Petco for speaking out from an employee perspective. There are signs posted not allowing overnight parking and I see a security guard walking around and occasionally inside Winco, but obviously it's not enough. These days evidence on camera is key...so I agree that cameras should be VISIBLE AND UTILIZED throughout the center with the video retention mentioned in the petition. Lighting should be improved and more security presence is needed. The businesses can probably only do so much if they don't own the property....the landlord is where the pressure needs to be applied. I want to support these businesses also because they help support our community through donations to the schools, providing jobs to the area, etc.. If they lose business it has a ripple effect to all of the community.
