I have seen an abundance of drug addicts in our neighborhood. Trash and theft is rampant. My car has been broken into 3 times and have caught people looking over the back fence from the allies. We really need help. The problem is out of control.

I agree with the comments as to why the petition was initiated.

I also grew up playing at both Enslen Park and Graceda. Our family used to rent the clubhouse at Enslen Park for family reunions. I wouldn't even think about doing that now! The drug addicts pretty much rule the front porch of the clubhouse, bathrooms and picnic tables. There are shelters and churches that will offer help and they refuse to leave. I have also complained to the City of Modesto, written letters to the Modesto Bee regarding a house by Enslen Park that lets homeless addicts sleep in their yard in tents. They leave their syringes, feces in our yards! We have received no help from the city after years of complaining! We need the City and MPD to make this a priority!!!!

I have used these parks for more than 70 years, and find it very sad to see what they have become.

City parks are for families not vagrants. Stop allowing prisoners release and homeless drops in Modesto. The money can't be that good.

I can no longer bring my children or nieces and nephews to the park for fear of being hurt by needles or broken glass in the play area. Not to mention just walking by all the scary people to get to the play structure or people having gay sex in the restroom. Random used condoms lying around, it's disgusting! It's so bad right now, I hope the city wakes up to this problem. Just a few years ago, as a mom I could happily walk there and meet friends for coffee. I knew moms that would jog around the park while their kids played. Gone are those days. No more picnics, no more outings there. Graceda used to be a hub and delightful center of our community.

I've lived in this neighborhood for 5 years now. . My kids and i have only been to Graceda 5 times! You never know what lies around at that park including people. I looked at parks in other areas in order to avoid my neighborhood park. . That's sad! It would be nice to see a bit more patrolling there including the surrounding area.

It is time to take back the parks so our children have a safe place to play.

The most beautiful park in Modesto with a great history should not be allowed to become a sewer!

Asking the local liquor stores and corner markets around the parks to stop selling single serve alcohol will be a big start. The vagrants living in the parks are the number one purchasers of such items. They buy them at the corner stores and consume them in our parks.
