As someone who lives in Nuneaton, I love walking along rivers & canals on occasion & I'm saddened both by the state they've now in & how far the town's fallen as a result of this. I want our rivers & canals to return to in such a condition that make Nuneaton a town a place to visit again.

The river ia a disgrace you only have to visit Tamworth to see how it should be.It is a feature asset of the town which is sadly neglected.

Nuneaton used to be a beautiful market town with waterways that gave us lovely canal walks, and a central park that was a delight, with a the river Anker meandering through it, and through the town, now the waterways, particularly the Anker has become a rat infested rubbish dump for all manner of disgusting debris,
which no one seems to be bothered about rectifying, with these waterways cleaned and restored to their former state it would help the people of Nuneaton to be proud of our town once again

living close to the river Anchor I’m amazed at what gets washed up on the banks. We do try and collect as much rubbish as we can but if Sainsbury’s and Asda could do their bit by cleaning adjacent to the stores ( plastic bags and I’ve even seen a shopping trolley in the river) Agreed that the local authority could and should do more to protect the wildlife and clean up the river.

The River Anker in Riversley park is such a mess. Its discgracfull. It lets the park and the town down. Years ago there used to be rowing boats that you could hire and many people had great fun. Its now dirty overgrown and nothing but a rubbish dump.
