Please take a few minutes to sign this online petition to ask the CRD Planning, Transportation & Protective Services Committee to support smoke-free parks, playgrounds and beaches. On Wednesday Sept 25. 2013 they will be voting on whether or not to move forward with a proposal to ban smoking in outdoor public areas. The proposal was voted down by the CRD board a few months back, so we need all the help we can get! Smoke-free public places protect people from second-hand smoke, provide healthy role modeling for children and youth, and encourage people to quit or cut back. Please support the health and wellbeing of CRD residents by banning smoking in parks, playgrounds and beaches.
