This to me is silly that it would even require a petition. What happened to showing respect for people even in the simplest of ways.

This kid was clearly a friend to many, loved by his community. Considering the way he passed I think it is extremely disrespectful not to save him a seat in graduation. My music teacher passed away my freshman year of college from suicide and the seniors at my high school wanted to leave her a rose because they already ordered one for her and the school board said no and it cause a lot of problems. Pleas leave a seat.

Having just lost a child to leukemia and knowing all the the “special things “ the school did for her and her sisters it is beyond me why a school would deny one empty seat. Shame on you Knob!

Why shouldn't this student have an open chair on graduation day? I understand he has passed away, but if he was alive today, wouldn't he be there? It's not going to cost the school any extra money to leave ONE seat open for this boy. What has happened to our schools?! When I was still in High School, and we had someone pass away my school did EVERYTHING they could to show support and rememberence. This one should do the same!

Even though clay is not here does not give the administration the right to take this away from us. It would be such a dishonor to all these people the clay has touched. We shouldn't have to fight for a spot for clay it automatically should be given to him as if he was still here. He worked for it just like the rest of us and because its called respect. He definitely worked for it and deserves it like all the rest of us. He may be gone but he DEFINITELY is not going to be forgotten.

With so much going on in today’s world, let these kids do something good and honor their classmate. Clay has touched so many lives and it’s the least the administration can do. Let these kids have closure and honor him! It is a harmless act.

Please, leave an open seat for Clay at graduation. It would mean so much to his family and friends to have him remembered. It’s such a simple request and to have it denied shows, in my opinion, that administration is not being sympathetic. His family and friends are hurting. Please reconsider and leave an open seat for Clay at graduation. Thank you.

These students lost a friend. An empty chair in honor of Clay is a simple, respectful way to honor a classmate taken too soon. Theis small act at graduation will hopefully offer closure for some.

Clay was loved by so many people, students and staff, and he seemed SO excited to graduate. He deserves to have a seat at graduation with his cap and down and deserves to have his name called, he left such an impact in our community.

I don't understand why our young people have to start petition's to honor their classmates that pass too soon. In my day when we lost a friend their parents walked to receive thier diploma and the seathe was left open end of story. This isn't even so much of honoring him but helping those still here through a trying time. When did this turn into such a bad thing this is not the first petition I have seen on this, this year. Do the right thing Administration for those left behind....leave the seat!
