The district finally backed down and confirmed they will offer non-iPad classrooms for our kids. This victory belongs to every one of the 399 people who refused to accept their tech-obsessed agenda. Keep a close watch on them to ensure they honor this commitment moving forward.

We hit 100 signatures and the district can no longer pretend parents are happy with this screen obsession. The Eanes administration thinks they can force these iPads on our kids without pushback but this shows them they are wrong.

iPads must be closely monitored...especially at elementary level. That’s very hard for a teacher with 20+ kids to do. Laptops for high school would be nice! iPads have meant my kids won’t type and I have a 16 year old who pecks away when typing papers.

There is no reason to have IPADS for the kids. The number one school district in Texas, Highland Park doesn’t use them, they are ahead of us every year. Perhaps we should evaluate other top schools and what they are and aren’t doing.

our kids are missing out, the ability to free form , to look at a math problem and , having scratch paper, take the messy way to solve a problem or work it backwards. The tech limits the individual perspective. Our kids should be learning how to think, not how to think like Apple.

At a time when parents are trying to monitor/limit screen time, it feels like the school district is working against us. The downsides of the iPads outweigh any benefits - particularly in the elementary schools.

There is no educational benefit to having an iPad in the classroom. My 6th grader and friends watch South Park at school. With all of the studies showing the negative effects of screen time, why are our schools promoting MORE screen time?

I have been in the class room where the teacher (essentially) said that she didn't want to teach anymore that day so she let the kids play with the iPads. I have seen firsthand at home how the classroom iPads affect iPad use at home. they are a crutch.
